Anthropic principle: The Fine Tuned Universe (1980’s BBC Documentary)

The anthropic principle is a principle that says that the universe is how it is because it must allow for the eventual creation of human beings.

The following excerpts from the 1987 BBC documentary called The Anthropic Principle helps explain this principle.

Dr Hugh Rose explains further what is meant by a fine tuned universe.

Your Identity

“No one is more influential in your life than you are, because no one talks to you more than you do. Whether you realise it or not, you are in an unending conversation with yourself, and the things you say to you about you are formative of the way that you live.

Smack-dab in the middle of your internal conversation is what you tell yourself about your identity. Human beings are always assigning to themselves some kind of identity.

There are only two places to look. Either you will be getting your identity vertically, from who you are in Christ, or you will be shopping for it horizontally in the situations, experiences, and relationships of your daily life.”
